Major Technology Company is seeking a Software Verification and test engineer to determine user requirements and specifications and plan for software development and testing within the broader organizational scope. Software development includes end-user, system level, and data management applications

This position is located in San Diego, CA. All applicants must be willing and able to work in San Diego.

  • Implementation of design including coding, testing, and documentation.
  • Code maintenance including debugging and updating to keep pace with the evolving environment.
  • Experienced with VectorCAST including coding in C/C++test, Jtest
  • Uses software development plans, software configurations management and other software plans to develop a check list to verify compliance with the plan.
  • DO 178B/C
  • Provides input for feedback to project staff and managers on the results of these activities.
  • Reviews supplier/subcontractor delivered documentation against contract requirements.
  • Evaluates data received from supplier/subcontractor to verify status and progress.
  • Assists in conducting software verification test.
  • Develops and maintains verification activity logs.
  • Feeds verification results into anomaly reporting and change management system.
  • Assists the lead in developing, implementing, and installing the test environment, e.g., test tools, specialized software, drivers, data acquisition hardware/software) per the test plan.
  • Communicate with the software developer group, with users, and with management as well as with the wider community through the publishing and presentation of technical papers.

Qualifications  Essential Qualifications Typically requires bachelors or master’s degree in computer science, information systems or related discipline and two or more year’s progressive software testing experience with a bachelor’s degree. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. Must have a general understanding of software development concepts, principles, and theory and demonstrate the ability to follow and apply the use of programming and analysis concepts.
