Dynamic, high-tech electronics manufacturer has an immediate opening for a passionate, detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance Engineer.  This is an entry level position.  The successful candidate will work closely with the software development team, execute test cases, record results and provide feedback to software development engineers for a variety of software platforms including in-house production tools, customer applications, embedded platforms and back-end web services. 

Duties:

  • Review, setup and execute test plans and test cases - manual and automated
  • Track, document and report test results, and defects
  • Install, configure, and test software on multiple Windows and Linux platforms, with various application/web servers and databases
  • Participate in code review and bug scrub
  • Create and manage test plans and test cases
  • Isolate and report defects to software engineers both written and verbally
  • Setup and operate hardware, test and support equipment to facilitate execution of test cases

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent and 1 year of experience, or 2-year electronics degree, trade school, or related military training with a minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to present data collected in a logical manner utilizing programs such as Word, Excel (charts), and PowerPoint
  • Experience with basic wireless (Sat, Terr, Wifi, BT), network and client/server concepts
  • Experience with basic electronic test equipment, voltmeters, power supplies, serial ports, etc.
  • Experience with test management systems (i.e. TestLink)
  • Experience with defect tracking systems (Bugzilla, Jira, etc)
  • Experience with Linux and Embedded environments 
  • Experience with source control systems, desirable (Subversion, Git, Perforce)
  • Experience with continuous integration tools, desirable (i.e. Jenkins)
  • Experience with Python, Perl or other scripting languages, desirable
  • Knowledge of black/white/gray testing, desirable
  • Knowledge of C/C++, Java, .Net, SQL desirable
  • Knowledge of test and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, power meters, vector network analyzer, DVM, Signal generators, environmental test equipment and specialist test apparatus desirable
  • Knowledge of RF, analog, digital circuits and logic systems, desirable
