Volt seeks talented Application Engineers who bring interest/history in robotics or gaming, this is a 6-month temp-to-perm with our Client located in San Diego, CA. in this position, you will be the key piece to modification of existing software to re-purpose in C and Java languages.  This position will be working a 9/80 schedule, receiving every other Friday off, and working with cutting edge technology in the robotics field.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Perform systems engineering activities to support the design, development, and implementation of the system-of-systems architecture.
  • Perform software engineering design and development activities to produce reliable, modular, and secure software components.
  • Perform software integration and test activities to verify and validate the proper functionality of software component.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

Applicants selected must have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering and a minimum of 5 years experience is required.
  • Experience in the following:
    • JAVA and C languages 
    • Object-Oriented Programming
    • Linux operating systems such as CentOS
    • Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and other Front End technologies such as AngularJS, Node.js and JavaScript
    • Modern web design and development practices using HTML, CSS, server-side and client-side programming languages, language frameworks, as well as front-end and back-end programming concepts
    • Building modular user interfaces for web-based systems
  • Familiarity with the unique challenges associated with specifying, designing, developing, integrating and testing software modules in a rapidly deployed environment Version control software and tools to include GIT and JIRA.

**May need to test abroad a vessel. **

**Able to travel to Washington,DC 6 trips 3 days each. **
