Position Purpose:               

Provide hardware and software support for desktop computer and phone environment.

Position involves resolution of incidents local to the campus environment, in addition to remote resolution of support requests for staff working from remote home office locations. Position also serves in a technical role supporting the planning and execution of projects affecting the desktop client environment.

Experience Required:

Three years of demonstrated skills in supporting computers and related products.

A+, Networking+, Security+ and MAC OS are all certifications that are required or must be earned within the first year of employment.

Qualifications:

Education/Training Required:

High School diploma and technical training, or equivalent work experience and education.

Requirements:

  • Requires fundamental knowledge of computer hardware and software, to include networking concepts.
  • Must have ability to perform assembly and installation of computer systems. Must be proficient with current computer hardware technology.
  • Requires a strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows 7 environment and related Office applications as well as SharePoint and Active Directory.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem?solving skills.
  • Must have good written and verbal communications skills in English.
  • Requires strong customer?service, and interpersonal skills to interact with department and company employees.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, and ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities. Ability to work independently and with minimal direction, demonstrating initiative.
  • Travel may be required to gain access to remote facilities. Requires valid California's driver's license.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Preferred skills:

Certifications in CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network +, CompTIA A+, and Apple OS X certification (e.g., Yosemite, Mavericks).
