Senior Tool Design Engineer NEEDED IN POWAY, CA!!


A leading manufacturer of composite products for the commercial and military aerospace industry. We are seeking a full time Manufacturing Engineer for our team. This individual will play a key role in our leadership team and will work together to organize and coordinate the priorities of the Product / Process Group. The group assures that products are manufactured which meet internal goals while meeting and or exceeding customer quality and delivery expectations.
\\t\\t\\twill be responsible to design conceptual and production level tooling for projects related to developing new carbon fiber composites products in variety of aerospace applications.
\\t\\t\\tEssential Functions
\\t\\t\\tEvaluate, investigate, develop and verify feasibility of tooling concepts
\\t\\t\\tAnalyze and recommend Design for Manufacturability options to the customer
\\t\\t\\tDesign and detail a broad range of tooling from prototyping thru production, including composite lay-up molds, thermoplastic/ thermoset compression and transfer molds, fixtures and gauges using SolidWorks CAD software
\\t\\t\\tPerform necessary stress and thermal analysis within SolidWorks
\\t\\t\\tPlan and conduct design reviews with the team
\\t\\t\\tCreate and maintain BOMs, prints and other technical documentation necessary to manufacture and operate tooling
\\t\\t\\tIncorporate safety, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements in tool designs.
\\t\\t\\tFollow thru tool try-outs and ensure requirements are met
\\t\\t\\tPerform statistical analysis of the results as required
\\t\\t\\tDevelop and implement alternative designs to existing tooling to improve functionality in production
\\t\\t\\tDevelop/revise preventive maintenance requirements for the tooling
\\t\\t\\tInteract with internal team members and outside partners to keep them updated on project status
\\t\\t\\tIdentify and review technological sources of information and make recommendations on potential research projects to tooling for the division/product line
\\t\\t\\tDocument program and research findings in memos, monthly reports, and quarterly reports
\\t\\t\\tIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement of tooling processes to reduce production down time, improve efficiency, and reduce quality deviations.
\\t\\t\\tInteract with marketing, accounting, purchasing, manufacturing, product design and suppliers/customers, conveying information clearly and effectively through formal and informal documents
\\t\\t\\tEstablish and maintain an effective collaboration with external contacts such as local shops, universities, government labs, industry partners, etc.
\\t\\t\\tCore Competencies
\\t\\t\\tProficiency in complex mold design and analysis using SolidWorks.
\\t\\t\\tScientific and mathematical analytical skills
\\t\\t\\ttrack record of designing and building tooling for Composites, Injection/compression molding and/ or die-casting industry.
\\t\\t\\tKnowledge of GD&T dimensioning and inspection methods
\\t\\t\\tExperience in CATIA software will be a plus
\\t\\t\\tExceptional organization, time management and multi-tasking skills
\\t\\t\\tAbility to work in a team environment
\\t\\t\\tExcellent written and oral communication skills
\\t\\t\\tAdvance computer skills.\\t\\t\\t

\\t\\t\\tRequired Education and Experience
\\t\\t\\tThe position requires a Bachelor of Science degree with 5-7 years or an AS degree with 10 + years of relevant experience in tooling design.
\\t\\t\\tMust understand and develop designs conforming to AS and ISO guidelines.\\t\\t\\t\\t\\t\\t
