Job Overview
QUALCOMM's Cyber Security Solutions (QCSS) division develops special products based on its wireless terrestrial and satellite communication technologies for the military, federal, local, and foreign governments. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance.

QCSS is looking for a software engineer with a proven track record of working on platforms such as AMSS or Android. The individual will work on a variety of projects crossing multiple disciplines from across the company to deliver timely results to Customers. Embedded software development skills are required. The individual needs to know how to utilize off-target development and debugging platforms in-addition to on target development. Ideal/Preferred candidate has an active Secret/Top Secret clearance and is a self-starter who likes to be challenged in a dynamic team environment. Previous Security Clearance also highly considered.


+ Platforms: Linux, Android, Embedded OSs

+ Languages: C, Assembly, python, ruby, perl, shell

+ Tools: VIM, Emacs, Trace32/JTAG, IDA Pro, GDB, make, ctags, git, mercurial

Minimum Qualifications
US Citizenship is required for this role.
Minimum BS degree with 5+ years industry experience required in one or more of the following areas:
+ Embedded software development, preferably in C.

+ Experience in Linux and Android device drivers.

+ Experience with assessing interrupt service routines for efficiencies/problems.

+ Scripting language development to support rapid prototyping and unit test.

+ C/C++ programming skills.

+ JAVA, Perl or Python.

+ JTAG debuggers.

+ AMSS/Android/IOS software development.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Familiarity with wireless systems and protocols including CDMA/UMTS/LTE

+ Experience with Android memory management such as the use of ION buffers

+ Experience with I/O busses such as SDIO and SPI

+ CPUs such as the ARM7, QDSP or similar

+ IDA Pro or similar tools

+ DSP or SDR experience highly desirable

+ Software design/development of communication protocols

+ Software design/development of sensor related drivers and algorithms

+ Experience with FPGA systems

+ The ability to read a hardware schematic

+ Experience in board bring-up activities

+ Experience programing FPGA systems

+ Familiarity with use of HW diagnostic tools such as oscilloscope and multimeter

+ Assembly-level programming skills in ARM, QDSP or similar instruction sets a plus.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
