Qualcomm is looking for RFIC design engineers with demonstrated experience in RF switch design to join our Qualcomm Front-end Team (QFE) and participate in the development for emerging mobile wireless applications. Join this rapidly growing team to develop advanced switches, tuners and integrated designs and architectures supporting MIMO, Carrier Aggregation, adaptive tuning and LNA/VGA integration.


Responsibilities include:

+ RFIC design and validation with skills in RF design and top level RF+Analog+Digital integration.

+ Design and Validate RF switch, tuner, LNA/VGA, LC filter and directional coupler products for mobile RFFE modules.

+ RF core design and top level integration

+ Coordinate analog and digital optimization with team of support staff

+ Work with Marketing to negotiate product specifications

+ Design and Layout products

+ Simulate and optimize RF performance including extracted layout parasitics, devices and packaging.

+ Perform large and small signal analysis for prediction of s-parameters, IMD, harmonics.

+ Analyze and determine sensitivity to noise from digital and analog support circuitry.

+ Verify top level design compliance through mixed-mode analysis.

+ Generate DRC compliant IC layouts using library of reuse blocks.

+ Document and Report RF performance based on simulated results.

+ Validate products through bench level measurements.

+ Document and report simulated vs. measured results.

+ Include RF, analog and digital measurements.

+ Prepare test materials (packaging, PCBs, etc.) necessary as part of validation.

+ Prepare design validation report in preparation for hand off of product to characterization group.

+ Work with test engineers to specify RF Bench Characterization requirements.

+ Train and mentor Junior RF engineers.

Minimum Qualifications
MS Degree with at least 5 years of industry switch design experience preferred, and a minimum of BS degree with 5+ years industry experience is required, as is experience in one or more of the following areas:
+ Designed Front End RFICs including RF switches and tunable devices

+ Interfaced with customers to negotiate product definitions

+ Released one or more products to production in commercial RF Front-End Market

+ SOI CMOS, Bulk CMOS, or GaAs RF Front-End design experience

+ Experience with RF Front-End System performance required by the handset market

+ Experience with MOSFET device physics

+ Software Experience: Cadence Virtuoso/ADE, Agilent ADS including Momentum, Matlab
Preferred Qualifications
+ Extensive industry experience at the Staff/Sr. Staff level.

+ Experience with on die and/or package integrated passives and LNA/PA design experience preferred.

+ SOI CMOS design experience preferred.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering required, Master's preferred.
