We currently have an exciting opportunity for a TemporaryManufacturing Engineerto join our work site in Rancho Bernardo, CA. As a member of the construction/manufacturing engineering department, the Manufacturing Engineer directly supports the delivery of all hardware and documentation required by the respective contract.


  • Responsible for providing construction/manufacturing engineering support to programs/projects, such as CVN 79 EMALS/AAG Production, JCTS and RALS, high voltage capacitors, radiation monitoring systems, Gulftronic separator systems, and missile defense systems.\\t
  • Identifies, investigates, analyzes and resolves routine manufacturing engineering issues at both manufacturing facilities and sub-tier suppliers. Documents findings and implemented solutions, and communicates results to technical leads and management in both verbal and written formats.\\t
  • Initiates and implements assigned production-related design changes. Conducts manufacturing reviews of engineering specifications and drawings.\\t
  • Monitors and analyzes open engineering issues affecting purchase orders. Alerts planning department to open engineering issues that may affect manufacturing.\\t
  • Develops and coordinates shop order travelers and work instructions for production. May assist with development of tooling and fixtures to support manufacturing activities.\\t
  • Coordinate start-up tasks for production.\\t
  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.\\t
  • Manages and coordinates production schedules.\\t
  • Effectively uses Microsoft Office applications to execute daily work activities.\\t
  • Experience with machining, fabrication, welding, electrical assemblies and/or shipyard construction is desired.\\t
  • Able to work extended hours as needed to meet schedule needs.\\t
  • Must be a U.S. person to work in secured or export controlled areas.


    • Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and four or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree.\\t
    • May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.\\t
    • Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.\\t
    • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.\\t
    • Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.\\t
    • Must be able to work extended hours as required. Performs other duties as assigned or required.\\t
    • An EIT (Engineer in Training) certificate is desirable.
