Qualcomm Autonomous Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Qualcomm is building on its core strengths in wireless and compute technologies, and is in amidst the current technology revolution in the Automotive space. While we have pioneered connected car technologies for over a decade, we are now playing a critical role in the evolution of Automotive Infotainment, Telematics, ADAS/Autonomous Driving & its supporting technologies. We are investing in several bleeding edge technologies such 5G, Cellular V2X, Computer Vision, AI/Deep Learning etc., and are work closely with global Automakers/Tier-1s, standards bodies, consortiums and operators on pushing the boundaries.

We are inviting smart, energetic and passionate software engineers who are looking to make a difference on the many technology forefronts in Automotive, to join our growing multisite engineering organization. As a key contributor to ADAS/Autonomy Systems Architecture team, you will be architecting and implementing heterogenous and distributed software frameworks for ADAS/Autonomy systems, exercising and optimizing the full capability of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive platform.

Design and implement an Autonomy/ADAS system software architecture that can work efficiently and reliably with the multiple sensors, processors and outputs.

Provide systems specifications for the management of computation, memory, and interfaces in a complex multi-processor and multi-SoC architecture consisting of DSPs, GPUs, CPUs and specialized hardware accelerators with automotive grade safety requirements.

Collaborate with software component owners to provide component specifications and integrate individual components in to a larger system.

Define methodologies for system level validation of components and end-to-end use-cases.

Work closely with SoC design teams to architect optimized next generation ADAS SoCs
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5+yrs of relevant experience in Software Architecture & Development required

Solid hands-on experience in the design of SW working on heterogeneous computing platforms consisting of ARMs, GPUs, DSPs, and specialized hardware accelerators in an embedded SoC platform is required.

Working knowledge of design constraints and trade-offs for camera/radar sensors, high-bandwidth interfaces (eg. PCIe, Etherent, CCIX) is required.

Strong working knowledge of operating systems including Linux and other RTOSs such as Integrity OS, QNX etc. is required.

Sound software engineering skills and strong object-oriented design with several years of programming experience in C and C++ is a must. Experience with industry standard software development tools: HSW/HE debuggers, code revision systems (GIT, Perforce), IDEs and build tools is required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to work with engineers, partners and customers, and across the different geographical sites is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SoCs in areas such as CPU (SMP/HMP), MMU/SMMU, Virtualization extensions, Cryptography extensions, etc is highly desirable.

Working knowledge of technologies such as computer vision, deep learning algorithms, sensor fusion, localization, mapping, path-planning, motion control etc. with application to the automotive or robotics domains is highly desirable.

Knowledge of vision and compute frameworks (eg. OpenVX, OpenCL), distributed frameworks (eg. ROS/DDS), Automotive specific development process and frameworks (eg. such as AutoSAR, ADTF is highly desirable.

Knowledge of fault tolerant computing and designing in accordance to industry standard safety specifications (eg. ASPICE, CMM, ASIL) is highly desirable

Experience in system performance estimation (eg. bandwidth, memory ) and characterization is highly desirable.

Knowledge of Qualcomm Snapdragon architecture is highly desirable.

Prior experience in design of automotive-grade SW for ADAS and self-driving systems preferred
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
